Module 1 – training your eye
To
really get started with decorating and getting the skills required
for making professional displays, it is important that you get
started properly.
In
module 1 you start learning to "read" a window display
and not simply checking for products and prices.
You will also learn about customer psychology and how we all look at
a display.
You
will learn about the ’wow’ effect and about creating harmony in a
window. You
will also get an exciting task which I am sure you will enjoy.
Module 2 – Decorating techniques and principles.
Here you will learn about different techniques in preparing your
display:

and interesting.
Module 3 – Visual communication
Here you will be learning how to treat your products and how to
present them in just the right way to maximise sales.
You
will be learning about the planning of a product presentation in
connection to the season or special campaigns.

visual is a big and important part of decorating – you will learn
about this in this module.
Module 4 – The Use of Colour
We
will be looking, here, inside the world of colour.
You
will gain insight into the individual meanings of the colours, on
how to combine colours and what goes together and how. We will be
looking at NCS (Natural Colour System) and you will receive a colour
scheme.
Module 5 – Theme – Mood – Atmosphere
When you are making a beautiful display it is important that you follow

This you will learn on this module where you will also receive your
visual material. This will help, inspire and guide you.
Module 6 – Trends
This is an inspirational module for you. Here you will receive a
cocktail of what is going on in relation to the current trends in
decorating.
As
a skilled decorator it is important to have your finger on the
button in the decorating world - to be inspired and get the creative
ideas flowing. Just lean back and get inspired.
Module 7 – Knowledge of material and lighting
Here you will gain the knowledge about the numerous kinds of decorating
materials which you could be working with and use to create the
‘wow’ effect in you window display.
We will also look at the subject
of lighting and the different ways of using it to create the mood
you want.
Module 8 – Sign writing and calligraphy
Here we will be looking inside the world of sign writing and you
will gain insight into the basic techniques.
It is important to be
able to write prices and text in your display.
You will get the
opportunity to try for yourself and practice on the material you
will receive for this module.
Module 9 – Practical assignment
In
order for you to receive your decorating certificate you must
complete the final assignment. This assignment is both practical and
a bit theoretical.
It
is a fun and creative assignment, designed to summarise and follow
up on everything you have learnt on this course.

If your answers are more than 80% correct and your practical
assignment meets the requirements, you will shortly be receiving
